The difference of opinion between the old and the new has been attributed to the generation gap. Here I am not focusing on any particular culture but this is prevalent all across the world. The difference between the age groups of the same culture is well known and often talked about.

Any individual's behavior is primarily influenced by two factors. In initial years, the family has a direct influence on the child which results in formation of a typical set of values. Later as one grows up, the society influences the behavior to a large extent. In addition, as an adult the individual uses his or her own rational thinking for arriving at decisions.

Thus every individual is unique in one-way or the other.
Now the question is whether the so-called generation gap really exists or it is only a flimsy topic of discussion. For example, if our views does not match with that of our parents then we put up an excuse that they are of a different generation and hence the difference. However, in my opinion two friends or colleagues of the same age group may also have different views. Every person is in the process of learning new things and unlearning some of the old ones. Though the level of maturity may vary with age and experience, but each individual will continue to think within his or her own parameters. Thus people will continue to different from each other irrespective of the age, culture, geographical location and so on.

Generation Gap does exsist.

The reasons are acute...my parents are also highly educated. They do not come from any too much backward or conservative society. But still we have different mentality, different opinions about lives and how we want to life it and so on...

Prolly it is happening coz in this age the much of world I have seen they haven't and when they try to think of me they think how they were at this age and Oh common, that time passed on a lot of things has changed and so do the new generation but thier past or past experience didn't change so they just cant accept...

To me generation gap has no solution....it will be just the way it is ever after....

Generation gap does exist.

There were loads of stuff that my parents did but prolly weren't acceptable by their parents. The gap existed there. Same with my case. Many things I do might not be acceptable to them. So the gap still rears its ugly head here. I guess parents have to really open minded and progressive to close the gap. Nearly impossible actually.

generation gap definitely exists!

in today's world, this is more obvious than ever. in fact i sometimes face it at home. for our country i think the change has happened very fast. i can divide this in three groups- my grandmam my mom and me. there are many similarities in our point of views. but there are more differences. i can make a big list, but y waste time? but just for an example: my sister wants to experimnt with me with new looks. she wud straighten my hair, highlight or give me a french cut. my mom is ok wth them, but my grandma gets sad. she dusn't say anything, but i've seen the look on her eyes. it's like they r saying, "u r a punk of today, u wudn't listen to me so i wont say anyway" and that hurts me a lot. if i keep long hair, that's bad too. so wat can i do? i am fade wth arguing, not that i do that very much. but there shud be more understanding between ppl of diferent times. coz everyone is not be as tolerant or silent as i am.
